How We Began
Sisters Pat and Tonya Parker founded NAMS in the Washington, DC, area in 1992,
after successful careers in the federal government. They used their professional
expertise and grounding in the traditions of the Choctaw Nation to create
a company uniquely suited to deliver efficient contracting services with excellent
communication abilities.
Since that time, NAMS has enjoyed consistent growth, including a successful
graduation from the 8(a) program. Headquarters are in Reston, Virginia, with
satellite offices in Oklahoma and North Dakota. Additonal project managers, content
experts, and consultants work across the nation and internationally.
What We Do
CONFERENCES
We provide comprehensive services from concept to the final evaluation, including
graphic design and print and multimedia production, summaries and reports,
facilitators, venue and travel arrangements, registration, and event and financial
management. In the past year our largest conference was a federal 3-day conference
for 1,600 people held in Arizona, and the smallest was a federal policy meeting
for a dozen people in Washington, DC.
TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
We provide training and career transition support to U.S. military personnel. This year we have begun career transition projects in Europe and Korea. We provide training and technical assistance to Native American tribes and villages on a diverse range of subjects, including business plans, environmental projects, and childcare. In the past year, NAMS won two federal contracts that serve over half of the tribes and villages in the lower 48 and all of Alaska.
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
NAMS currently serves the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. National Guard and Army Reserve, and the USDA. We provide education, human resources services, and administrative support.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTATION
Specialized NAMS staff provide informed consultation and support on environmental projects and policy and environmental health issues. In
2002 NAMS won a significant contract from EPA's Office of Resources Management
and Administration.
Federal clients receive timely reports, impeccable financial records, and
professional program operations. Superior IT administration gives us the compatibility
and technical resources to communicate with both federal offices and remote
client sites.
Contracts
NAMS holds over 20 federal contracts, including:
- DHHS Administration for Children and Families
- DHHS Indian Health Service
- DHHS Program Support Center
- GSA
- HUD
